Woodwalton Flame

Flame sees the camera at the TBF Show!

Woodwalton Flame is a Trakehner cross Thoroughbred bay mare by the advanced eventer and graded trakehner stallion Godington Hannibal out of Woodwalton Foxfire.  Born in 1999, Flame was backed in 2002 and has proved to be very trainable.  Flame and Bev train regularly with List One dressage judge Inger Bryant and having prepared thoroughly, Flame attended her first ridden show in August 2004 - the TBF Annual Show.   Bev's hard work paid off and Flame not only won the 4 & 5 year old Potential Competition Horse class, she was the Ridden Champion beating the 9 and 8 year old winner and second from the open Riding Horse Class!  These classes were open to pure and part bred trakehner's, making part-bred, 4 year old, Flame's achievement even greater.  Bev was complemented by the German judge on having produced and shown Flame in a way totally suitable for her age - not bad considering Bev was riding with a groin injury that meant she couldn't use her stirrups!

Jan 05 update:  Due to Bev's studying for her McTimoney Chiropractic degree, competing Flame was put on hold until Jan 05.  Incredibly, in her first dressage competition (and only her 2nd ridden show) and with Bev only aiming for a quiet introduction to competition, Flame behaved like a seasoned competitor and was placed 6th and 4th at affiliated Prelim and Novice respectively and gained her first point.
