Highlights

See below for some of Woodwalton Stud's horses' highlights over the last few years....

Woodwalton Brindizi grades with the SPSS

Top

Woodwalton Brindizi, by Bernwode Brokat out of Saffron of Woodwalton, achieved the good score of 76.46 at the October 2009 SPSS Mare Grading.  This score would have put her in the Main Studbook if Saffron's breeding had been proven.  "Dizi" behaved impeccably at her first show taking it all in her stride.

Bay/Grey Colt for Woodwalton Fleurduc

Top

Woodwalton Fleurduc had a lovely bay colt ion 13th May 2008.  Woodwalton Falgrove Conduit (known as Falco) is by Godington Stud's German bred stallion Contis.  Falco is already turning grey - not a surprise as both Fleurduc and Contis are grey.

Woodwalton Bhaltair successful again in 2007

Top

Woodwalton Bhaltair (by Bernwode Brokat out of Saffron of Woodwalton) won the 3 year old gelding class at the 2007 British Dressage Breeding Championships and was placed second overall throughout the 3 year old classes. An impressive result as he was competing against much larger horses ('Balti' is only 15hh) the majority of which were continental imports rather than British Bred.  Balti is pictured during his individual show.

Balti also gained a First Premium with a score of 8.16 in the 2007 Baileys Horse Feeds / British Breeding Futurity Young Horse Evaluation at Arena UK.  As part of this he had to loose jump down a grid, which he did with great enthusiasm - impressive considering he'd never jumped until less than a week earlier!

Another chestnut colt for Holme Grove Fabienne

Woodwalton Barnaby Fudge, a chestnut colt by the SPSS Stallion, Bernwode Brokat, out of the graded Trakehner mare Holme Grove Fabienne was born on 15th May 2007

Woodwalton Bhaltair gains First Premium

Top

The 2006 Baileys Horse Feeds / British Breeding Futurity Scheme had a section for ponies and small horses (not likely to exceed 158cm).  This was the first time the section has been available and Woodwalton Bhaltair scored 8.0 and was awarded a First Premium at the Arena UK qualifier.  This qualified 'Balti' for the final, also at Arena UK, where he was again awarded a First Premium.  The final had an entirely different set of judges and a lot of youngsters presented scored lower than at the qualifiers, so Balti's slightly higher score was a significant achievement.

Woodwalton Bhaltair wins at BD Breed Show 2005

Top

Woodwalton Bhaltair (by Bernwode Brokat) won the Colts/Geldings Youngstock section at the 2005 British Dressage Breed Show.  He was then 3rd behind the eventual champion and reserve in the overall youngstock class.  'Balti' also collected a sash awarded by the SPSS for the highest placed SPSS registered pony in the class.

Bay Filly for Saffron

Top

Saffron had an elegant bay filly in the early hours of 5 July 2005.  Named Woodwalton Brindizi and known as 'Dizi', this filly is by the German Sports Pony Stallion Bernwode Brokat and so a full sister to Woodwalton Bhaltair.  Dizi is pictured at 4 days old.

Chestnut colt for Holme Grove Fabienne

Top

Another lovely colt arrived safely at 6am on Saturday 5 Jun 04.  An experienced Mum, this being her 4th foal, Fabienne took it all in her stride.  The colt (named Woodwalton Falstaff) is by the advanced eventer and graded Trakhener, Godington Hannibal.

Bay colt for Saffron

Top

A stunning bay colt arrived safely at 04.35am on Saturday 22th May 2004.  Saffron was absolutely thrilled with her first baby and refused to let him feed initially, as she wished to kiss and lick him continually!  With a little help, she soon got the idea and is proving to be a wonderful mum.  The colt has been named Woodwalton Bhaltair and will be known as Balti!

Flame Ridden Champion at 2003 TBF Show

Top

Woodwalton Flame (by Godington Hanibal out of Foxfire) was outstanding at her first show - winning the Potential Completion Horse Class (open to 4 & 5 year olds) at the 2003 Trakehner Breeders' Fraternity Show.  Flame and Bev followed this victory up by taking the Ridden Championship - beating the 9 and 8 year old winner and second from the open Riding Horse Class!  These classes were open to pure and part bred trakehner's, making part-bred Flame's achievement even greater.  Bev was complemented by the German judge on having produced and shown Flame in a way totally suitable for her age - not bad considering Bev was riding with a groin injury that meant she couldn't use her stirrups!
